Join us this month with Dr. Cheyenne Carter, as she teaches us about sex therapy, what are the differences between a traditional therapist and a sex therapist, and how you can find a sex therapist!
Individuals who are dealing with pelvic health conditions are often told by providers the condition is all in our heads. This can feel invalidating to a patient. Pelvic pain conditions are very real and can effect every aspect of a person's life. These conditions can also take a big toll on a person's mental health. Sex therapists have a unique training to help clients who are experiencing pelvic pain with processing emotions around their experiences.
Dr. Cheyenne Carter holds a PhD in counseling and an MS in counseling psychology. She is a full-time faculty member in the counseling department at Southern New Hampshire University and has a part-time private practice serving clients in North Carolina and Texas.
